MINI PROJECTS

SCULPTURE

Collaborative sculpture project, using hands as organic sculptural objects contrasting to other linear objects in photography. Demonstrates experimentation with a range of materials and compositions.

ZINE

Zine storyboard and sketchbook development pages, demonstrating application of research from murder cases (as seen in tv series 'Mindhunter' storylines), psychology articles into psychopaths and historical artist Francis Bacon's compositions- along with final experimental zine outcome (bottom right of sketchbook images), using original photography and a range of processes.

EXPERIMENTAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Exploring new ways of mark making, during the silk-screen printmaking process I became fascinated by the way the paint used to print the images can be applied and removed in many different ways. I enjoyed the idea of the paint half being washed off the large screen where it starts to run and bleed across the surface over the screens stencils. I wanted to experiment with using this screen as the piece of art itself, rather than it just being the vessel where the prints are created.

FIGURATIVE PRINTMAKING

Application of life drawing into projects by using sugar-lift etching technique to print pen study, artist influence of Elly Smallwood.
