I am a London based artist currently studying BA Fine Art at Central Saint Martins (UAL). I work across mediums, mainly using Photography, Moving image, Video and Film, Digital media, Painting, Print making and Drawing as creative outlets for my conceptual based projects.
My work never rests: when I have a project, it consumes me. Every gallery I go to, every new experience, every conversation will contribute to the development of my work. My work is self-motivated as I am committed to my art and often choose to write my own briefs in art school, either pulling together elements of briefs provided, or creating them entirely from my own areas of interest. I have a deep appreciation for all forms of artistic expression, and I am constantly searching for new artworks to inform ideas within my practice. By regularly visiting art galleries in London, as well as in the rest of the UK and abroad, I am continually collecting ideas, knowledge and resources which allow me to work eclectically and give me a rich source of inspiration to feed my work.
I am interested in how distortion can be used as a device to reveal my truth of an object, its complexity and depth, which is hidden from normal perception. Throughout my process as an artist, I experiment with visual imagery and focus on the work’s conceptual intention by seeking to portray my subjects, not as I see them, but how I conceive them. I question conventions of traditional artforms such as painting and aim to re-present them in contemporary contexts. I frequently draw inspiration from my inner world e.g. my fears, desires etc to guide my projects, as I want to create an emotional experience for the viewer.
